Business Development at Wintermute

We are on the lookout for a Business Development & Partnerships Manager to spearhead our ambitious growth plans in New York. We seek a professional with an expansive understanding of the US financial services market, well-versed in both traditional finance and digital assets. Your mission: to cultivate new and expand existing businesses for Wintermute on a global scale.

As the role primarily focuses on end-to-end opportunity management in the region, you will devise and execute your own strategic growth plan, while benefiting from the team's guidance and insights. Our liquidity products are top-tier, we collaborate with leading blockchain initiatives, and numerous strategic growth avenues are on the horizon, with a multitude of counterparts eager to form alliances with us. Within Wintermute, we eschew legacy processes and corporate red tape, yet maintain the pinnacle of professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Expand the global institutional OTC business, encompassing the formulation and execution of your growth strategies in the region.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams to introduce new products — like derivatives — to the market. This includes gathering customer feedback, product testing, launch strategies, and more.
  • Enhance and foster relationships with high-profile crypto projects, as well as with local venture capitalists and critical ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Strengthen strategic partnerships with key entities such as exchanges, custodians, lenders, and other infrastructure providers.
  • Implement a structured approach to business development and collaborate with teams to boost operational efficiency (e.g., CRM improvements, campaign effectiveness, etc.).
  • Stay abreast of key launches and news within the crypto landscape and proactively identify avenues for cooperation and business growth.

Hard Skills Requirements:

  • Experience in traditional financial and digital asset services from high-performance teams.
  • eCommerce experience is a plus.
  • Expertise with spot and derivatives OTC products, notably options, is essential.
  • Background in business development, partnerships, or any client-facing role (B2B sales, investment banking, etc.).
  • Proven track record in achieving business results — be prepared to discuss your targets and achievements.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. The role is centered on educating counterparties about our offerings, requiring you to be convincing, concise, precise, a good listener, and clear on next steps while ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Trading or crypto knowledge is a strong advantage; an eagerness and curiosity to grasp the fundamentals of blockchain technologies, algorithmic trading, and liquidity provision are crucial.
  • A BSc/MSc in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
