About Nomos

Nomos is an innovative blockchain built from the ground up, embracing the original cypherpunk principles: decentralization, censorship resistance, permissionless-ness, and privacy. It aims to be the trustless agreements layer of the Logos stack. The upcoming Nomos network will offer a shared infrastructure layer for communities and aspiring network states to build social, governance, and financial services, protecting the fundamental rights and values of their members.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine mathematical models of complex systems using probabilistic frameworks, particularly within blockchain technology.
• Implement advanced probability and statistics methods to address real-world challenges in distributed or networked environments.
• Interpret engineering requirements and convert them into mathematical models for comprehensive analysis.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to translate theoretical constructs into commercially viable solutions.
• Lead applied research initiatives, merging academic rigor with practical, industry-oriented outcomes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong foundation in applied mathematics, focusing on complex systems and stochastic processes.
• Demonstrated experience using sophisticated mathematical tools to resolve real-world, large-scale problems.
• Proficient in collaboration and communication, with the ability to clearly convey complex ideas both in writing and verbally.
• Experience or strong interest in blockchain, cryptography, distributed systems, or networks.

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with blockchain concepts or decentralized technologies.
• Knowledge of cryptography and contributions to open-source projects.
• Advanced degree (PhD or MSc with substantial research experience) in Mathematics, Theoretical Computer Science, or related fields, paired with commercial experience.

Compensation

The anticipated compensation range for this role is negotiable and depends on the assessment of your skills and experience throughout our interview process. We are flexible in offering compensation in any mix of fiat/crypto.
