About the Role:

Avara seeks a Staff Move Engineer to continually innovate and enhance our diverse products and services. A strong affinity for web3 technology, along with expertise in smart contract development and blockchain systems, is essential. You will design, implement, and develop smart contracts in Move, while also engaging with contracts in Solidity and other EVM-based networks. Your role involves closely collaborating with Avara's leadership and technical teams.

How You Can Make an Impact:

  • Design, craft, and test secure Move-based code.
  • Contribute to developing protocol-level infrastructure and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and functionalities.
  • Address security vulnerabilities by simulating scenarios and formulating strategies and responses.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues encountered during the development process.
  • Review peer code for quality assurance, focusing on meeting security standards.
  • Stay current with web3 ecosystem developments and adopt new technologies when appropriate.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support to fellow engineers as needed.

Let's Connect If:

  • You possess extensive experience with Rust and/or Move.
  • You have prior experience and understanding of DeFi concepts like tokens, minting, lending/borrowing, financial pools, staking, and related principles.
  • Experience in writing smart contracts (EVM and non-EVM chains) and a deep understanding of contract architecture, attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and design patterns are highly valued.
  • Prior experience with decentralized financial oracles is advantageous.
  • You're a builder and innovator who ships features meeting the highest standards.
  • You have expertise in Move and are comfortable with advanced concepts.
  • Experience with network and distributed systems programming is a plus.
  • You actively research the latest hacks, tooling, and security practices.
  • Passionate about DeFi and Social platforms.
