About the role

Nethermind produces a wide range of tools used in production. We seek individuals who are passionate about simplifying software usage and possess a keen ability to guide users through libraries and tooling. We are hiring a Technical Writer prepared to join a rapidly expanding and innovative company. This role is a fit if you have a strong interest in decentralized technology platforms and can write comprehensively about blockchain and open source technologies, zero knowledge concepts, decentralized finance, and our products, including Ethereum Client, Juno, and Voyager. Additionally, you should possess a fundamental understanding of EVM, the Ethereum state, L1/L2, Execution, and Consensus clients. You should be either obsessed with Diátaxis or possess strong opinions against it.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategy, creation, and execution of thought leadership content on blockchain, open source technologies, and decentralized finance.
  • Document new products, features, and APIs.
  • Document standards, guidelines, and best practices for engineers.
  • Organize documentation to ensure easy discoverability.
  • Maintain content quality through curation and analyzing content performance.
  • Ensure alignment of all business narratives and messages with content strategies.
  • Engage with the crypto community and diverse audiences on technical subjects (including Medium, Twitter, and Reddit).
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Marketing teams.
  • Apply creativity, judgment, and detail orientation to address professional, technical, and operational issues.

Must Haves

  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Strong command of the English language with the capability to translate complex technical ideas into clear, accessible prose.
  • Ability to engage with the blockchain community and diverse audiences on technical subjects.
  • Significant experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process.
  • Experience building and owning documentation using topic-based authoring.
  • Proficiency in using tools to create, manage, and publish documentation, and experience with GitHub.
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams on products for a technical audience, such as DevOps, developers, or scientists.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated people skills necessary to foster an open and collaborative environment.
  • Comfortable using Medium, Twitter, and Reddit.

Nice to Haves

  • Programming knowledge or experience.
  • Experience creating automated documentation tools.
  • Background in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Information Technology, Psychology, Business Administration, International Relations, Law, or related fields.
  • Previous experience in a Communications role.
  • Ability to collect, summarize, and analyze metrics for content performance and audience engagement.
  • Existing contributions in the decentralized finance space.
